Wasco County Adopts Dispensary Moratorium

The Wasco County Commission decided to envoke a one-year temporary moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries in unincorporated areas of the county.  Commission Chair Scott Hege says there is a lot of uncertainty around the subject, and they want time to deal with regulation needs responsibly.  He adds it is unlikely a dispensary could be located in unincorporated parts of the northern end of Wasco County, but there are possibilities in the south, including potential home-based locations.  Wasco County joined the City of The Dalles and Hood River County in enacting the moratoriums, which expire next May 1.  The Hood River City Council did not institute a moratorium.
