CGCC Budget Committee Meets Tuesday

Columbia Gorge Community College’s Budget Committee will hold its first meeting to go over the 2016-17 fiscal year document on Tuesday.  The College released its proposed budget on Friday, and it includes a six dollar per credit hour tuition hike approved by the school’s board of directors two weeks ago.  In a letter included with the fiscal plan, CGCC President Dr. Frank Toda says after implementing difficult spending reductions, revenues will exceed expenditures in Fiscal Year 2015-16 for the first time in three years, adding the college is on track to spend over one million fewer dollars this year compared to the last.  He goes on to say after a year of austerity measures, it is now time to invest in the future.  Tuesday’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the CGCC board room in The Dalles campus.
