A long-discussed signal light at the intersection of Rand Road and Cascade Avenue at the western end of Hood River might be nearing reality. City Manager Steve Wheeler says the Oregon Department of Transportation has indicated that $750,000 it planned to use for a crosswalk at that location could be used for a signal light and realignment of the intersection. Wheeler did say the City would need to gather more funds for the project to happen, so it will take time for the light to occur. He added another potential signal light location high on the priority location is 2nd and Oak in downtown Hood River.
