Missing children found safe in Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Two children reported missing Sunday in the Goose Lake area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest were found safe a short time later.

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office says the children became separated from their family while picking huckleberries. As search teams responded, a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officer located the pair walking together near Forlorn Lakes Road.

The children were reunited with their family and were not injured.
