Commissioners Grant Permit For Festival

Wasco County Commissioners voted unanimously to issue a mass gathering permit for the “What The?” music festival to be held at Wolf Run Ranch southwest of Dufur.  Festival organizers offered to stop all amplified noise at midnight each night of the festival, planned for June 19th through the 23rd.  Commissioners elected to make that part of the conditions for the permit.  Neighbors had asked Commissioners not to issue the permit for the festival citing noise among other reasons, but regulatory agencies had signed off on plans for the event and planning staff recommended approval, noting organizer Moonshine Events had exceeded requirements for traffic control, security, sanitation services, and fire prevention.  Wasco County uses a state ordinance for mass gatherings.  The festival is in its second year at the Wolf Run Ranch.
