Representatives of the private business sector are being sought to take part in the Columbia Gorge Education and Industry Summit coming up in two weeks at the new Fort Dalles Readiness Center on the Columbia Gorge Community College campus in The Dalles. Part of the goal of the summit is to help education learn the workforce needs of industry in the near future. CGCC’s Suzanne Burd says this will be a working conference to provide the opportunity for cross-sector involvement leading to definite outcomes. Oregon State University President Dr. Edward Ray and Washington State University Vancouver chancellor Mel Netzhammer will be keynote speakers. The summit will be April 18, and to register go to gorgesummit.org.
