Klickitat County Commissioners held an online and telephone town hall last week, and it brought a reminder of how difficult Internet access can be in smaller rural communities.  Commissioner Dan Christopher says county government is not in the broadband industry, but they can try to encourage companies to offer the service, adding they have been doing so.  Christopher said one company in the Goldendale area has expressed an interest in moving east, and they believe another company may be interested in the Lyle and Dallesport area.  And the Snowden area and the Bickleton area after the Newell Road Fire are also locations the County is trying to encourage companies to consider for service.
