The History Museum of Hood River County says it needs to move 1500 objects from its collection that are stored off-site due to the sale of its previous storage location. The Hood River County Heritage Council, which manages the museum, has secured new space at a building owned by the Port of Hood River which will allow the museum will be able to house all the items not currently on display in the new facility, and greatly improve the conditions of the collection in the process. It should also alleviate overcrowding at the museum, freeing up space for programs and educational activities. But the move is also a large and unexpected expense. The museum is seeking financial assistance and volunteers to help pack or move. Donations are being accepted at hoodriverhistorymuseum.org, at the museum in Port Marina Park, or by e-mail at info@hoodriverhistorymuseum.org.
