The Columbia Center For The Arts has received a $10,000 tourism grant from the Oregon Arts Commission to help grow and market the Mt. Hood Independent Film Festival. The Center’s Catherine Butler says the grant is specifically to help increase the amount of visitors who attend the festival, and they will target the marketing in the Northwest. 65 films have already been submitted looking for a place in the festival, which Butler says is slightly above their pace of a year ago. The festival, in its third year, will take place the weekend of November 7-9 in Hood River.
