Oregon Class 5A Track and Field

Hood River Valley’s Simone Tillman had a big weekend in Eugene, finishing second in the girls’ 400 meters, 3rd in the 200, and 5th in the long jump.  Teammates Ximena Santillan finished fourth in the 300 meter hurdles and Sylvaine Farr tied for fourth in the pole vault.  In the boys’ portion of the meet, HRV’s Elliott Hawley was fifth in the 1500 meters and eighth in the 3000, and Shaw Burns was eighth in the long jump.

 

Oregon Class 4A Track and Field

Zoe Dunn of The Dalles was second in the girls’ triple jump, third in the long jump, and help the four by 400 meter relay team to a third place finish and the four by 100 meter relay team to a sixth place finish.  The Riverhawks’ Madelyn Harrison was sixth in the 200 meters and Lilly Adams eighth in the 400.  For The Dalles’ boys Juan Diego Contreras was fourth in the 1500 meters and seventh in the 3,000, and Julian Morehouse sixth in the pole vault.

 

Oregon Class 1A Track and Field

Second place finishes from Trout Lake’s Gynel Duke in the girls’ pole vault and Myana Stock in the girls’ 1500 highlighted the Mid-Columbia effort of the final day of the meet.  Trout Lake’s Landon Heberling was fourth in the boys’ 100 meters, and Sherman’s Sophie Hulke fourth in the girls’ shot put.

 

Washington Class 2B Track and Field

Stephen Pittman and Raymond Holycross led Goldendale’s boys to a third place finish in the team standings.  Pittman had third place finishes in the pole vault, long jump, and 300 meter hurdles and finished seventh in the triple jump.  Holycross won the triple jump, was fourth in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, and fifth in the long jump.

 

Washington Class 1A Track and Field

Columbia’s girls four by 100 meter relay team finished fourth, while the Bruins’ Jessica Polkinghorn was fifth in the girls’ shot put and Stevenson’s Hudson Holzhauer fifth in the boys’ discus.

Oregon Class 4A Softball Quarterfinal

The Dalles 18, Astoria 2:  The Riverhawks host Scappoose for a semi-final game today at 5 p.m.

 

Washington Class 2B/1B Tennis Tournament

Goldendale’s Jeslyn Berry and Taryn Rising won three out of four matches to finish third in girls’ doubles, while Gwen Gilliam won two out of four to take eighth in the singles, and the combined effort gave Goldendale the girls’ second place trophy behind Jenkins of Chewelah.   The Timberwolves’ Eli Golding and Kyden Blunt split four matches to finish eighth in boys’ doubles.
