Wind River Locked Down Monday Due To Threat

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office says Wind River Middle School was placed in lockdown Monday morning after it was notified of a threat of a school shooting there.  The Sheriff’s Office says the lockdown decision was made based on the nature and specificity of the threat.  Students were held at neighboring Carson Elementary School while law enforcement personnel determined it was safe for students to return to Wind River.  Students and their belongings were checked for dangerous weapons.  The Sheriff’s Office says they have not yet determined the person responsible for making the threat and the investigation is active.  Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at 509-427-9490 and Dial 0.
