Budget Preparations Begin For City Of The Dalles

The City of The Dalles is in the midst of preparing a budget for the 2023-24 Fiscal Year.  Municipal staff will have a fiscal document for the City Budget Committee to consider in May.  The Dalles Mayor Rich Mays says the City is in very good shape financially, but he adds that new City Manager Matthew Klebes feels they also have needs to be addressed, including economic development and facilities maintenance.  Mays says they have a healthy balance in the general fund at this time.
