The deadline to file for mayoral and city council elections in Oregon passed on Tuesday.  In The Dalles, there are no contested races, with three current seat holders all filing for the November vote.  Those are Mayor Rich Mays, and Council members Tim McGlothlin and Scott Randall.  In Hood River, a former mayor is seeking to return to that position, as Paul Blackburn is the lone candidate to file for the seat and Kate McBride is not seeking re-election.  Four people have filed for three City Council seats, with incumbent Tim Counihan joined by Pamela Martin, Grant Polson, and Doug Stepina.  There will be a contested race for mayor in Cascade Locks…with Cathy Fallon and Butch Miller the candidates.  And there are four Cascade Locks City Council candidates:  Denise Emmerling-Baker, Pete Happy, Eric Keller, and Brenda Wood.
