Oregon Class 5A Baseball First Round

Putnam 8, Hood River Valley 2:  The Kingsmen parlay six hits into five runs in the top of the fourth inning to grab the victory and knock the Intermountain Conference champions out of the state playoffs.  Shannon Pando, Leo Renzema, and Trevor Buchanon drove in two runs apiece for the Kingsmen.

  Oregon Class 5A Softball First Round

The Dalles 7, Scappoose 1:  The Riverhawks scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to blow open a close game and advance to the quarterfinals.  Despina Seufaulemua homered twice and drove in three runs, while Ella Smith had a two-run single.  Kennedy Abbas recorded ten strikeouts, as the Riverhawks move on to visit Pendleton in the quarterfinals on Friday.

  Oregon Class 2A/1A Baseball First Round

Dufur 8, Reedsport 1:  Dufur scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth to break the game open. Isaac Anthony went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs and Brock Lafaver added three hits of his own, with two RBIs. Anthony, Lafaver and Brock Smith combined on the mound for fifteen strikeouts. The Rangers will host Neah-Kah-Nie in a quarterfinal game on Friday at 4:30 at Dufur City Park.

  Washington Class B Golf Tournament at Deer Park

Goldendale’s Ike O’Leary shot an 88 for the second straight day to finish 23rd in the boys’ tournament.  Teammate Myles Lee ended up 26th.
