Motorist Killed By Falling Rock On Highway 14

A 45-year-old man died when his vehicle was struck by a falling boulder on Highway 14 near Doug’s Beach on Friday.  According to the Washington State Patrol, the vehicle driven by Stephan Becker of Portland was traveling westbound on Highway 14 when it was struck by a boulder falling down the adjacent hill.  That caused the vehicle to rotate and roll, coming to rest in the eastbound lane.  Becker was declared deceased at the scene.  The accident occurred just after noon on Friday.
