The Dalles Community Action Team, made up of representatives of various governmental agencies, made its semi-annual trip to Washington, D.C. a couple of weeks ago.  Port of The Dalles Executive Director Andrea Klaas says they held 15 different meetings with legislative and federal agency offices.  She adds a new concept the local contingent pitched is called the Cascade East Interconnection Feasibility Study.  Klaas says the concept is for The Dalles to be the location of a broadband hub of a strong connection to the east so anything that relies on the Internet can still be used during a major emergency event.
