A 29-year-old Yakima man says he will run for the 14th District seat in the Washington State House being vacated by Charles Ross, who announced earlier he will not seek re-election. Adam Yoest said in a statement he will run as a Republican. Yoest is a graduate student at the University of Southern California and says he will complete his Masters degree in public administration next month, and is also a sergeant first class in the Washington Army National Guard. He is a graduate of Yakima’s Davis High School and Central Washington University. In his campaign statement Yoest lists personal economic liberty, choice in education, and property rights among his platforms, adding he believes his Masters degree would be helpful in highlighting instances of regulatory overreach and over taxation.
